I just wanted to take a quick moment to thank all those who have visited. It’s always rewarding to hear how your art affects those who have participated in one’s little artistic ventures. It’s nice to know that someone out there in this great electronic universe sees and understands what you’re trying to say.
And a big thank you to my friend Heatherly Stephens for coming out to Hollywood and hiking through Runyon Canyon park and letting me takes pictures of her. Heatherly is a talented artist herself and I appreciate the time she took to help me out. Check out her bio below.
Again, thanks to all of you for visiting and don’t forget to support the independent artists in and around your neighborhoods: both the land based neighborhood and this new and amazing interwebz neighborhood.
Heatherly Stephens Bio:
Heatherly loves the arts. Through her love of art she has had amazing opportunities. She’s been an award winning actor, having been blessed with roles like The Witch from Into The Woods and Beatrice from Much Ado About Nothing at the tip of the iceberg. Heatherly is also an NAACP award-nominated sound designer as well as a DJ, Head Shot/Nature photographer and Theatre Professor.
Well, here they are. Some of the outtakes from Spirals and Sight. These are a few of the images I liked but for whatever reason I just felt they didn’t fit properly within the piece.
Keep checking back. I’ll be posting more in the coming days!
I still see from a distance
I can still see the light
I cannot swim to the surface
I cannot touch the warmth
The whirlpool ever swirls around
binding my arms tight
The darkness grips my feet tight
Preventing me from rising
The darkness grips my feet tight
Preventing me from rising
The whirlpool ever swirls around
binding my arms tight
I cannot swim to the surface
I cannot touch the warmth
I still see from a distance
I can still see the light
I want to let go but you won’t
forever we dance round and round
we swirl around the room holding on
our existence intertwined
when i enjoy the music you come to me
you persuade me to waltz with you
why do you always ask me to dance
when I enjoy the music you come to me
you persuade me to waltz with you
we swirl around the room holding on
our existence intertwined
I want to let go but you won’t
forever we dance round and round
the darkness has arrived.
it circles around until isolation arrives
it suffocates you to unconsciousness
when the light fades from sight
it stays with you swirling around
In daylight it greets you like a friend
In daylight it greets you like a friend
it stays with you swirling around
when the light fades from sight
it presses on your chest relentlessly
ever belaboring your breath
it circles around until isolation arrives
it suffocates you to unconsciousness
the darkness has arrived
I would like to invite you to come on a journey with me. As with many journeys I’ve taken, I know where I’m starting and I know where I’m ending. I don’t know where I’ll be stopping along the way.
We’ll be traveling along this road in segments. Each segment will build upon previous segments never to forget where we’ve been and always eager to see where we’ll go next.
As we travel on this journey of ours feel free to comment about the places we’ve seen and about the places you think we’ll see next. Your opinions are welcome and valued as we travel along our path. If you enjoy the journey please invite your friends to come along. All are welcome.
Call it an internet improvisational theatre journey.
